A triple celebration for Grégoire Besson!
Chairman and owner of Grégoire Besson, Patrick Besson opened the celebration with a speech crediting the success of the company worldwide to the quality of the GB product, as well as the dedication of the people who work for the company. Patrick praised Bill and his son Rob for making GB UK a success and described how he admired his good friend Bill’s “positive sense of the world”.
MD of Grégoire Besson UK, Rob Immink gave an account of GB UK’s early years operated by Bill from the family’s garden shed, and thanked the many individuals worldwide who have helped to make GB UK what it is today.
Bill Immink gave a fond account of his first meeting with Patrick Besson in a field in Lincolnshire, and their subsequent business relationship that turned into a lasting friendship. Bill recounted his twenty years working for Grégoire Besson, from GB UKs launch at the Royal Show in 1991 as well as changes to the farming industry, to the new site and the future of the industry and the Grégoire Besson Company. He commented that his years in the agricultural business have flown by, and he has learnt that the most important part of business is family and friends. Bill received a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd.
Bill, Rob and Patrick opened the new depot officially with a ribbon cutting and champagne toast, followed by a hog-roast.
It was a great afternoon, attended by many colleagues and friends from around the world. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us!
Please feel free to leave comments and to wish Bill all the best in his retirement.
